About Koha

Nestled near the bottom of the globe, Aotearoa-New Zealand is a stunning archipelago located in the South Pacific Sea. Marlborough, located on the top north-east side of the country’s South Island, also happens to be home to some of the best wines in the world. With high sunshine hours, and cool nights, and a sea breeze to regulate temperatures, Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc is renowned for its crisp, refreshing, citrusy flavours and lingering finish.

Pinot Noir from the area is also becoming increasingly popular; boasting bright red berry notes, fine tannins, and a touch of savoury herbs, Marlborough Pinot Noir is a surprising treat from this South Pacific cool-climate nation.

Through the Koha range of wines, you will experience the proud spirit of hospitality that Aotearoa-New Zealand is known for. Generous, thoughtful, and carefully considered, Koha represents the shared trust and respect between host, and guest – making these wines perfect to enjoy at home, when out at your favourite restaurant, or as a hosting gift.

The distinctive fern design on our label is New Zealand’s national symbol; the much loved and widely recognised silver fern. Known as ‘ponga’ in te reo Maori, the silver fern is native to New Zealand and holds special significance for Kiwis.

Shown everywhere from sports teams, to the country’s national airline carrier which uses the ‘koru’ of the unfurling fern as its logo, the silver fern is a powerful and emotional symbol of inspiration.
